最近实在没有时间,先简单介绍一下,因为这个语言在北美地区一直很流行。但是我在国内很少看到有人用。

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tcl (Tool Command Language) is used by over half a million developers worldwide and has become a critical component in thousands of corporations. It has a simple and programmable syntax and can be either used as a standalone application or embedded in application programs. Best of all, Tcl is open source so it's completely free.

Tk is a graphical user interface toolkit that makes it possible to create powerful GUIs incredibly quickly. It proved so popular that it now ships with all distributions of Tcl.

Tcl and Tk were created and developed by John Ousterhout. Developers all over the world followed his example and built their own Tcl extensions. Today, there are hundreds of Tcl extensions for all manner of applications. We have cataloged hundreds of of these contributions, which you can find listed under our Applications, Extensions, and Tools.

Tcl and Tk are highly portable, running on essentially all flavors of Unix, (Linux, Solaris, IRIX, AIX, *BSD*, the list goes on and on) Windows, Macintosh, and more. There are several sites that provide precompiled binaries for various platforms that are listed under our Tcl/Tk Ports area.

Tcl/Tk 8.4 is the stable version of Tcl/Tk. We've added a number of features that make Tcl the pre-eminent scripting language for enterprise applications. These are described on our Whats New page.

Tcl/Tk 8.3 is the previous stable version of Tcl/Tk. It is a battle-tested version that has been in use for years.

The Tcl/Tk Web browser plugin provides an easy alternative to Java programming for client-side web applications. The plugin leverages Safe-Tcl to provide a secure environment to run downloaded "Tclets".

Tcl and Tk are open source and their ongoing development is a collaboration between engineers at ActiveState and others in the Tcl user community. The CVS repository for the source code is hosted by SourceForge. Everyone is welcome to submit source code changes. Please use the bug report and patch submission form at SourceForge so that we can catalog the submissions in a database. Check out the list of contributors to the latest Tcl/Tk release.
