Install EMC AIX ODM Driver<br />   dosdir<br />   dosread EMC_AIX*.Z<br />   zcat EMC* or uncompress EMC.*<br />   tar xvf EMC*.tar<br />   cd fcp<br />   smitty installp<br />   cfgmgr<br /><br />2. Install PowerPath<br />   mount -v cdrfs -r -p /dev/cd0 /cdrom<br />   cd /cdrom/AIX<br />   smitty installp<br /><br />3. Create PowerPath Licesence File<br />   vi /etc/powerpath_regestration<br />   0202WTALEUZX<br />   0202WTELVXEL<br />   powermt check_registration<br /><br />4. Reboot Unix Server<br />   mkbcv -a<br />   emc_cfgmgr<br />   powercf -q<br />   powermt config<br />   inq &gt; /tmp/diskinfo<br />   savebase<br />   <br /><br /> to remove hdisks<br />   lsdev -CtSYMM* |xargs -n1 rmdev -dl<br /><br /><br />set up a PowerPath boot device on a Symmetrix for a new PowerPath installation.<br /><br />1. Reduce the number of physical Symmetrix paths to the intended boot <br />   device to 1.<br /><br />2. Install AIX on a Symmetrix disk volume accessed by a SCSI adapter.<br /><br />3. Install the current EMC Symmetrix drivers.<br /><br />4. Reboot the host. <br /><br />5. Install PowerPath 1.5.0. See the &quot;PowerPath 1.5 Product Guide for UNIX&quot; <br />   for information about installing PowerPath 1.5.0.<br />  <br />   NOTE: Do not run the powercf and powermt config commands when you <br />         install PowerPath. These commands will run when you reboot <br />         the host.<br /><br />6. Install this patch (1.5.0.3). See &quot;Instructions For Installing Patch <br />   1.5.0.3&quot; in this document.<br /><br />7. Use the bosboot command to create the boot image. Enter &quot;bosboot -a&quot;.<br /><br />8. Reconnect all physical paths to the Symmetrix.<br /><br />9. Reboot the host. <br /><br />10. Use the pprootdev command to set up multipathing to the root device. <br />    Enter &quot;pprootdev on&quot;.<br /><br />11. Use the bootlist command to add all of the alternate path hdisk <br />    devices to the boot list.<br /><br />12. Reboot the host
