IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - System Storage 2007
Job Role Description / Target Audience
An IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - System Storage 2007 is an individual who has demonstrated a higher level of technical understanding and experience both in breadth and depth across multiple areas of the System Storage product portfolio.
To attain the IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - System Storage 2007 certification, candidates must pass four tests:
Two mandatory tests
Two elective tests
Recommended Prerequisite Skills
Minimum two years experience providing technical support for IBM storage products
Experience in multiple Open Systems platforms, and other skills recommended for test 747 or 208
Experience with TotalStorage Productivity Center, and other skills recommended for test 900 or 907
Experience relevant to the two elective tests selected to complete certification requirements (i.e., high-end disk products, high-end tape products, NAS/SAN products, TSM 5.3)
Ability to work independently and effectively in complex environments

747 - Open Systems Storage Solutions Version 5
Test 208 - Open Systems Storage Solutions Version 6
Any 1 of the following tests:
900 - IBM Tivoli TotalStorage Productivity Center V3.1
Test 907 - IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center V3.3 Implementation
Any 2 of the following tests:
Test 745 - Storage Networking Solutions V2
Test 746 - High End Disk Solutions Version 5
Test 749 - High End Tape Solutions Version 4
Test 799 - IBM Tivoli Storage Manager V5.3 Implementation
Effective January 1, 2008, requirements have been amended to include newer version tests for tests that have been withdrawn. Specifically, test 208 - Open Systems Storage Solutions Version 6 will now be accepted in lieu of test 747 which has been withdrawn, and test 907 - IBM Tivoli TotalStorage Productivity Center V3.3 Implementation will be accepted in lieu of test 900 which has been withdrawn. Requirements for elective tests are unchanged.
The last date to qualify for IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - System Storage 2007 will be February 29, 2008. Following that date the elective tests may no longer be available.
