B1701004    DMA driver has encountered an error due to a target abort in the IPL mode during a read operation



I520现在firmware级别为：SF240_320. 查IBM网站发现，比SF240_320更新的微码级别只有SF240_338，SF240_338没有针对B1701004这个代码的修复。但是低于SF240_320的微码级别有提到这个错误代码。

有时候通过复位service processor可以启动成功。有时候复位service processor无数次也不行。

请问大家有遇到这个问题吗？怎么解决？

有高人吗？

一般升级Firmware目的是修正LPAR一些BUG,所以升级之前需要衡量是否有必要升级.
Firmware升级还真不好备份,不比OS400升级.公司i570刚好昨天升级Firmware,很正常.

直接升级到最新SF240_338试试.

能提供详细的升级步骤吗？

This notification is to inform owners of  9110-510, 9111-520, 9113-550, 9123-
xxx, 9124-xxx, 9405-520, 9406-520, and 9406-550 systems of a problem that
could be encountered while doing a system boot. This problem only occurs on
these systems with microcode level 01SF230_120_120 installed.

The problem is that the system will hang during boot with one of the following
errors : B1701004, B181F12E, or B150F22A

If you have this level of microcode on one of these systems, and your system
is running, IBM recommends you install microcode level 01SF230_126_120 before
you turn off or reboot your system. This microcode is available for download
or for ordering a physical CD-ROM from URL:
http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/server/mdownload/home.html

If you have one of the above systems, and your system has never been turned
on, or  your system has been previously turned on successfully but is now
turned off, IBM recommends that when you power on your system if you do not
encounter the problem that you check the level of microcode and if the
01SF230_120_120 is installed, then install microcode level 01SF230_126_120
immediately; and if  you do encounter the problem when you turn it on, that
you call your hardware support for directions to work around the problem to
get 01SF230_126_120 installed to resolve the problem.

Note: this problem does not occur on systems  9117-570, 9118-575, 9119-590,
9119-595,  9406-570, or 9406-595.

IBM has identified two problems with the POWER5 system firmware level
01SF230_120_120.

If you have a 9117-570 system, and have downloaded and are using the above
updated firmware, you might encounter loss of power in the media bay,
rendering  your DVD-RAM drive to become nonfunctional.  IBM is working on a
replacement module, to be available as soon as testing is complete.  In the
meantime, if you need to use your media bay, downlevel your current microcode
to 01SF225_096_096.

If you have a 9111-520 or 9406-520 system, and have downloaded and are using
the above firmware, you might be unable to boot the system using the white
power on/off button. You might experience one of two errors, depending on the
type of boot that has been applied. If you encounter one of these errors, the
error codes reported will be one of the following: B181F12E or B1701004.  IBM
is working on a replacement module to be available as soon as testing is
complete.  In the meantime, if errors are experienced, downlevel your firmware
to 01SF225_096_096.
